Human resource development for sustainable innovators
who create new interdisciplinary fields, transcending boundaries

PROGRAM
PROGRAM

The world is in the midst of a great change for the realization of a sustainable society. The Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology aims to foster excellent researchers and engineers with interdisciplinary and synthesizing skills and creativity. In this rapidly changing society, we are required to take on challenges in new fields of study with interdisciplinary ideas and an international perspective, in addition to expertise and investigation skills. Based on this concept, the five-year Sustainable Science and Technology Program was established to provide a new field of study spanning multiple disciplines in order to produce innovative doctors who can contribute to building a sustainable, safe and secure society and play an active role in the world. This program is provided with a complete support system, including recommendations for various scholarships and participation in international conferences.
This program includes the following five advanced interdisciplinary fields:
Space Science and Engineering,
Environmental/Energy Science and Engineering,
Mathematical/Nanomaterial Science and Engineering,
Science and Engineering for Super Smart Society,
Life/Field Science and Engineering.
Students of each major are required to select a field from the above as a sub-major.

CURRICULUM
CURRICULUM

This program aims to provide students with interdisciplinary abilities to respond to various fields of study, transcending boundaries. Thus, all students are required to learn subjects in mathematical and scientific data sciences, which are indispensable in becoming researchers and engineers. Students must participate in the “laboratory rotation” between the laboratories of fields other than those in their own major, in order to receive advice from teachers of multiple fields, and develop their own innovative research. In addition, the program offers internships and field work in foreign research institutes to produce personnel who can work actively within global society. Specialized subjects are also provided in each field to progress specialized research.
