Let’s Support the Future Doctoral Scholars of Kanazawa University!

Dear Colleagues,

In today’s increasingly globalized and complex world, the active contribution of individuals with advanced expertise and strong problem-finding and problem-solving abilities—doctoral researchers—is more essential than ever.
At the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Kanazawa University, graduate students aspiring to earn doctoral degrees are dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to research across a wide range of fields in science and engineering.
To support these doctoral candidates, we have established the Doctoral Scholar Development Support Fund - Department of Science and Engineering. This fund aims to provide financial assistance to doctoral students while also strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, thereby fostering highly skilled professionals capable of creating new value in society.

The purpose of the foundation

“Welcome Back” Doctoral Scholarship

This scholarship supports students who enroll in the doctoral program after completing a master’s degree at Kanazawa University. It aims to foster excellent and diverse working professionals pursuing doctoral studies, nurturing innovative human resources capable of driving innovation in industry and beyond, and promoting future-oriented collaboration among industry, academia, and government.

Fostering Globally Active Researchers

Donations will be used to support travel expenses for graduate students who study abroad or presenting at international conferences. The fund also provides learning support for international students enrolled in the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology. Through these efforts, we aim to cultivate doctoral researchers who can thrive on the global stage.

Inspiring Future Doctoral Candidates

To encourage more students to pursue doctoral studies, the fund will support activities that enhance the motivation of undergraduate students to advance to doctoral programs—such as career guidance, information sharing, and opportunities to learn about graduate research. It will also provide study support for undergraduate students who aspire to enter Kanazawa University’s doctoral programs.

Funds will be used to improve facilities and cover expenses that contribute to educational and research activities essential for nurturing future doctoral talent.

Acknowledgment of Donors

The Doctoral Scholars Development Support Fund - Department of Science and Engineering - honors the generosity of all our donors. The names of donors will be engraved on the donor plaque at the entrance of the Natural Science Main Building on Kanazawa University’s Kakuma Campus, serving as a lasting tribute. In addition, with our heartfelt appreciation, donors’ names will also be published on the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology’s website.
