Admission Policy (Doctoral Programs)

In order to contribute to the development of human civilization and science through science and engineering, we seek students with a broad perspective of the natural systems formed by living things, human beings, materials, and the earth. We welcome ambitious students who have fundamental expertise and inquisitiveness related to life science, biotechnology, chemical engineering, and global environmental science, and who aim to become influential creative engineers, scientists, and educational researchers as leaders with an international perspective.

Basic Policy for Selection

In the Department of Natural Systems, an academic ability test (oral examination) and academic transcripts are used to comprehensively evaluate applicants’ specialized knowledge, the ability to use it to define and solve problems, and the ability to discuss research in specialized fields.

Desirable Abilities for Admission

It is necessary to possess a high level of expertise in a specialized field and the ability to define and solve problems in order to apply knowledge and carry out research.

Curriculum Policy (Doctoral programs)

In this department, we have prepared four model curriculums. We teach and develop deep expertise and inquisitive creativity regarding the natural systems formed by living things, humans, materials and the earth, through education and research that dramatically enhance the specialization of the Master's Program. We provide education to develop researchers, engineers and educators with global sensibility and strong ethics in the field of natural science, based on the Kanazawa University Graduate School Global Standard.

Diploma Policy (Doctoral programs)

In order to bring about a rich and sustainable natural environment and a human society in harmony with nature, the Department provides students with the expertise and practical skills required for research in life sciences, biotechnology, chemical engineering and global environmental studies, and the presentation / communication ability to play an active role in the international community. Students acquire flexible task definition / solving ability, plan implementation ability, and rich humanity and creativity. Students are required to acquire the prescribed credits and pass a doctoral dissertation examination. The above are the main requirements for conferring a degree (doctoral degree).
