Division of Natural System
The Division of Natural System offers courses that promote the realization of an enriched and sustainable human society in harmony with the natural environment. It consists of four courses: Biological Science Course, which seeks to unravel the mysteries of life and life phenomena; Bioengineering Course, which applies biological knowledge to human society; Chemical Engineering Course, which applies chemistry and physics to skilled manufacture/ craftsmanship; and Earth and Environmental Sciences Course, which investigates earth dynamics comprehensively. We create future (leaders), researchers, engineers and educators who have broad experiences, deep knowledge and brilliant skills accumulated from different fields.
We apply basic knowledge in life science and geo-environmental study to bioengineering and chemical engineering with the aim of launching/founding a new discipline called “science of natural system”, and create/generate future researchers, engineers and educators who will make comprehensive/broad contributions in fields from ranging from basic science to applied science.
In addition, we educate our students to obtain not only expertise in the science of natural system, but also the skills required to find problems, set challenges and how to solve them through research activities. We also boost up their teaching, presentation and communication skills to help them establishing an active role in international society.
