■Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology: Instructors and Research
- Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences
- Division of Material Chemistry
- Division of Mechanical Science and Engineering
- Division of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Division of Environmental Design
- Division of Natural System
Classification of Students and Degrees
- Research students
Research students will study specific subjects. The research period is six months or one year in principle. Completing the research period does not enable a student to get a degree.
- Regular students
Regular students will get the master’s degree provided that they are enrolled in the graduate school for two years or longer, get the specified number of credits in the selected course and pass the examination of the master’s thesis. The name of the degree is Master of Science, Engineering or Arts.
It is difficult for international students to enter as a regular student because we do not screen applicants for approval of their application before they leave their country, and there is not enough time to get a visa after the application results have been announced. In order to prepare for studying at the graduate school, we recommend that international students come to Japan as a research student, and apply for the school as a regular student after completion of the research period.

Before submitting your application, you must contact a prospective academic advisor to get advance approval for acceptance. Send an e-mail to the prospective advisor to obtain his or her approval.
After receiving approval from the academic advisor, submit your application documents to the advisor within the specified period. Follow the instructions from the academic advisor with regard to details of the application procedure.
International students are requested to provide confirmation of their qualifications for application. In addition, a certain level of English ability (TOEIC, TOEFL score) is required (for divisions other than the Division of Mathematics and Physical Science). Conditions may differ depending on the division and screening system. Please prepare early.
Please check the Guidelines for Applicants for details about the entrance examination.
Applicants are to be screened through documents, a written examination and an oral interview. Successful applicants will be notified in writing.
